Message from the Director regarding the Virtual Expo

Categories: Uncategorized

I wanted to let all of our Industry contacts know that our May 1, 2020 Senior Design Expo has been moved to a “Virtual Expo” format due to the COVID-19 situation.

The Virtual Expo will have narrated posters for our Semester 1 students and Project videos for our Second Semester students. Due to the “Stay at Home” orders, the students lost access to our Senior Design labs and in many cases were not able to fully complete their projects. The videos will show what they were able to do and the plans for completion by a “Phase 2” Senior Design team, or via handover to the Industry Supporter.

The Virtual Expo will be available starting at Noon on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at the following link:

Spring 2020 Virtual Expo

We will continue to present the Best Project, Best Project Video (Second Semester) and People’s Choice (Semester 1) awards. Award winners will be posted on the Virtual Expo website at 2:30 PM on May 1, 2020.

We are accepting projects now for Fall 2020. I realize that due to the COVID-19 situation, some industry partners may not be in a position to make a Fall commitment at the present time. We are therefore also accepting “provisional” projects. These projects are input with the understanding that the company may need to cancel their participation depending on how the virus situation unfolds. A provisional project will allow us the time to vet the project scope and staffing. Provisional projects will not be invoiced until the project is confirmed. Please contact Jim Hartman if you have projects to discuss for Fall 2020.

Best regards,
